Trailer

Peter Berg produces and directs Battleship, an epic-scaled action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Inspired by Hasbro's classic naval combat game, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hopper's fiancée; Alexander Skarsgård as Hopper's older brother, Stone, Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson; Rihanna as Petty Officer Raikes, Hopper's crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone's superior (and Sam's father), Admiral Shane. -- (C) Universal

Geez Hawaii just can't catch a break. First Pearl Harbour and now an Alien invasion. Lucky for Hawaii the Aliens aren't as determined to win as the Japanese were. It's a bit hard to swallow that if ET makes the effort to fly all the way out here to kick our butts, that they only attack, if they feel threatened. Pa-lease!

Despite the obvious flaw in Alien invasion tactics, it's an entertaining movie. It's a oooh look at all the pretty explosions and Aliens movie, not a damn that's a great story and acting one. The movie is loosely(very) based on the classic game of the same name. The part of the movie where they play the Battleship game is as far fetched as the rest of the movie, but heh look at all the pretty explosions.

It won't win any awards but it may give Navy recruiting a boost.
