Tor.com have launched their 2011 Readers Choice Award. They want you to vote for the books you enjoyed the most and that were published in 2011. No idea why they are calling the award 'The Stubbies'. It isn't a beer bottle or a short pair of shorts! Very confusing for this Australian. Fantasy Faction has launched...

In the aftermath of a colossal battle, the future of the Seven Kingdoms hangs in the balance once again--beset by newly emerging threats from...

Jim Butcher has let us know what he's been up to. I've done a trilogy of short stories with linked characters in which Bigfoot is Dresden's client. They take place spread out over the length of the series so far. The Bigfoot stories were about 40 percent of a novel in total page length....

Some odd results here. Fantasy: 1st - A Dance With Dragons(unsurprising) with 8530 votes. 2nd - The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern(who??????) with 8519. Granted I read a pretty narrow selection of the overall fantasy genre, but to have a book I've never even seen mentioned before only lose by 11 votes to ...

Tor.com has reported the death of Iconic Fantasy artist Darrell K. Sweet, probably best known for his "Dodgy" Wheel of Time Covers. Love them or hate them his works graced the covers of many SFF books and in the case of "The Wheel of Time" became a part of the series itself. It's a damn shame that the final...

Brent Weeks has updated his writing advice page with a section on Originality. He's probably not the person I'd be asking for that kind of advice. Apologies if that link doesn't work but I can't check due to being banned from that site. “This book has magic and stuff, and there’s these cool things in...
